Product Specific Information
This product is preservative-free. It is recommended to add sodium azide to avoid contamination (final concentration 0.05%–0.1%).
Recombinant rabbit monoclonal antibodies are produced using in vitro expression systems. The antibody DNA sequences from immunoreactive rabbits are cloned and screened to select the best candidates for production.
Advantages of recombinant rabbit monoclonal antibodies:
- High specificity and sensitivity
- Lot-to-lot consistency
- Animal origin-free formulation
- Broader immunoreactivity due to larger rabbit immune repertoire
This antibody is specific for Human CD200/OX-2.
Target Information
CD200 is a type-1 membrane glycoprotein belonging to the immunoglobulin superfamily, containing two immunoglobulin domains. It is broadly distributed on cell surfaces and interacts with CD200R on myeloid cells to prevent macrophage activation locally.
Homologues of CD200 have been identified in several herpesviruses and poxviruses. Studies in mouse and rat suggest CD200 regulates myeloid cell activity and delivers inhibitory signals to macrophage lineages in various tissues.
Multiple alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms of CD200 have been found.
Diseases associated with CD200 dysfunction include Mantle Cell Lymphoma and Primary Hypertrophic Osteoarthropathy.
For Research Use Only.
