Target Information

This gene encodes a member of the F-box protein family characterized by an approximately 40 amino acid motif, the F-box. F-box proteins are subunits of the ubiquitin protein ligase complex SCFs (SKP1-cullin-F-box), which function in phosphorylation-dependent ubiquitination.
They are divided into three classes:

1. Fbws containing WD-40 domains
2. Fbls containing leucine-rich repeats
3. Fbxs containing either different protein-protein interaction modules or no recognizable motifs

The protein encoded by this gene belongs to the Fbxs class and contains a C-terminal sequence similar to yeast Sec7p, a regulator of vesicular protein transport. It may interact with ADP-ribosylation factors (ARFs) and exhibit ARF-GEF activity.
