Target Information

FBXL4 encodes a member of the F-box protein family characterized by the F-box motif (~40 amino acids). F-box proteins are components of the SCF (SKP1-cullin-F-box) ubiquitin ligase complex, which mediates phosphorylation-dependent ubiquitination.
They are classified into three groups:

• Fbws: Contain WD-40 domains
• Fbls: Contain leucine-rich repeats
• Fbxs: Contain other protein-protein interaction modules or no recognizable motifs

The FBXL4 protein belongs to the Fbls class and contains at least 9 tandem leucine-rich repeats in addition to the F-box domain.
