Target Information
GAPDH (Glyceraldehyde-3-phosphate dehydrogenase)는 해당과정(glycolysis)에 관여하는 촉매 효소로, 동일한 37 kDa 소단위체 4개가 결합한 사량체 형태로 존재합니다. GAPDH는 1,3-bisphosphoglycerate를 glyceraldehyde 3-phosphate로 가역적으로 환원시키며, NADPH를 보조 인자로 사용합니다.
이 효소는 해당과정 외에도 DNA 복제, DNA 수선, RNA 수출, 막 융합, 미세소관 결합 등 다양한 세포 기능에 관여합니다. 또한, 세포사멸(apoptosis) 및 신경퇴행성 질환과 관련된 유전자 발현 조절에도 중요한 역할을 하는 것으로 알려져 있습니다. GAPDH는 알츠하이머병(AD) 및 헌팅턴병과 관련된 단백질들과 상호작용하며, actin 및 tubulin과의 결합도 보고되었습니다.
GAPDH는 대부분의 조직에서 높은 수준으로 발현되므로 Western blot 분석 시 단백질 적재 대조(control)로 자주 사용됩니다.
