Target Information
PAX 유전자군은 초기 배아 발달 동안 특정 조직에서 활성화되는 전사 인자(transcription factor) 계열로, paired box로 코딩된 DNA 결합 도메인을 포함합니다.
PAX2는 배아 발생 중 신장 발달 과정에서 발현되며, metanephric mesenchyme의 응축 및 초기 상피 구조에서 높은 발현을 보입니다. 성숙한 신장 상피에서는 PAX2 발현이 빠르게 감소하지만, Wilms 종양의 미분화 상피에서는 지속적으로 발현되어 세포 증식과 관련이 있습니다.
WT1 종양 억제 단백질의 발현은 PAX2의 하향 조절과 연관되어 있으며, WT1이 PAX2 전사를 직접 억제할 수 있음을 시사합니다.
