Cytokeratin pan은 중간 필라멘트 단백질의 하위군으로, 인간 상피 조직에서 최소 20종의 서로 다른 폴리펩타이드로 구성되어 있습니다. 이들은 분자량 40–68 kDa, 등전점 pH 4.9–7.8 범위를 가지며, 인간 cytokeratin은 1–20번으로 번호가 매겨집니다. 각 상피 조직은 세포 유형과 분화 정도에 따라 특이적인 cytokeratin을 발현합니다.
Cytokeratin 아형 발현 패턴은 다양한 상피성 악성종의 구분에 유용하며, 면역조직화학을 이용한 종양의 감별 진단뿐 아니라 세포병리학 및 유세포분석에도 활용됩니다. Keratin은 암 연구와 종양 진단에서 유용한 바이오마커로 널리 연구되고 있습니다.
