EPHA2는 ephrin receptor 서브패밀리에 속하는 단백질 티로신 키나아제 계열의 수용체로, 신경계 발달 과정에서 중요한 역할을 하는 것으로 알려져 있습니다. EPHA2는 다양한 인간 암에서 과발현되며, 세포 간 상호작용(분화, 부착, 이동, 사멸 등)의 조절에 관여합니다. 티로신 키나아제(TK) 유전자는 약 90개가 알려져 있으며, 이 중 58개는 수용체형 TK(EGFR, EPH, FGFR, PDGFR, TRK, VEGFR 등)이고, 32개는 세포질형 TK(ABL, FAK, JAK, SRC 등)입니다.
