Target Information
Voltage-gated potassium channels are a large and diverse family of ion channels found in both excitable and nonexcitable cells. They regulate resting membrane potential and control the shape and frequency of action potentials. KCNS1 is a member of the S subfamily of potassium channel proteins. Although KCNS1 is not functional alone, it can form heteromultimers with other Shab-related subfamily members (e.g., member 1 and member 2), modulating their activity.
