• Immunohistochemistry (PFA fixed):
  Incubate antibody for 30 minutes at room temperature.
  Staining of formalin-fixed tissues requires heating tissue sections in 10 mM Tris with 1 mM EDTA, pH 9.0, for 45 minutes at 95°C, followed by cooling at room temperature for 20 minutes.

Target Information

Napsin 1 is an aspartic protease generally expressed in the lung, also found in kidney and metastatic carcinomas. It processes surfactant protein B in healthy pulmonary and renal tissues but is abnormally regulated during carcinogenesis.
Napsin evaluation aids in identifying cancers and differentiating primary tumors from metastases. When combined with thyroid transcription factor analysis, it serves as a specific biomarker for carcinoma differentiation.
Napsin is also associated with pulmonary alveolar proteinosis and protein catabolism in renal tubules.
