Product Specific Information
- Immunohistochemistry (PFA fixed): Incubate antibody for 30 minutes at room temperature.
- Staining of formalin-fixed tissues requires heating tissue sections in 10 mM Tris with 1 mM EDTA, pH 9.0, for 45 minutes at 95°C, followed by cooling at room temperature for 20 minutes.
Target Information
Napsin 1 is an aspartic protease primarily expressed in the lung, but also found in kidney and metastatic carcinomas. It processes surfactant protein B in healthy pulmonary and renal tissues, and its dysregulation is linked to carcinogenesis. Napsin evaluation is useful for identifying various cancers and differentiating primary tumors from metastases. Combined with thyroid transcription factor analysis, Napsin serves as a specific biomarker for carcinoma differentiation. It is also associated with pulmonary alveolar proteinosis and protein catabolism in renal tubules.
