- Description: Monoclonal rat IgG1, kappa is useful as an isotype control immunoglobulin.
- Applications Reported: Reported for use in immunohistochemistry, immunocytochemistry, flow cytometry, and ELISA.
- Applications Tested: Tested by flow cytometric analysis of mouse splenocyte suspensions. Should be used at the same concentration as the experimental antibody.
- Excitation: 488 nm; Emission: 520 nm; Laser: Blue Laser.
- Filtration: 0.2 µm post-manufacturing filtered.
Target Information
Rat IgG1 is a subclass of immunoglobulin G (IgG) antibodies commonly used in research and diagnostics. These antibodies are produced by rats in response to an antigen and can be purified from serum or hybridoma cell culture supernatants. Rat IgG1 is often used as a negative control in experiments, as it does not bind to many mammalian antigens. It is also utilized in immunohistochemistry, flow cytometry, and western blotting to detect specific antigens.
Gene targeting enables manipulation of the rat genome to generate models for studying human diseases, allowing knockout, insertion, or modification of specific genes to investigate their roles in disease pathogenesis.
