Product Specific Information

The 390 monoclonal antibody reacts with mouse CD31, also known as platelet-endothelial cell adhesion molecule-1 (PECAM-1) and gpIIa. This 130–140 kDa surface protein is expressed by endothelial cells and at low levels on all leukocytes and platelets. CD38 has been reported to bind CD31. Homotypic interaction of CD31 is important in adhesion, cell-cell and cell-matrix interaction, and signal transduction.

Applications Reported: Flow cytometric analysis.
Applications Tested: Flow cytometric analysis of mouse bone marrow cells. Recommended ≤0.5 µg/test (100 µL final volume). Optimize empirically based on cell number (10⁵–10⁸ cells/test).

Light Sensitivity: Tandem dye sensitive to photo-induced oxidation. Protect vial and stained samples from light.

Fixation: Samples can be stored in IC Fixation Buffer (Product #00-8222-49) or 1-step Fix/Lyse Solution (Product #00-5333-57) for up to 3 days in the dark at 4°C with minimal impact on brightness and FRET efficiency.

Target Information

CD31 (PECAM-1) is an inhibitory coreceptor regulating T cell and B cell signaling via ITIM motifs that, upon phosphorylation, recruit protein-tyrosine phosphatases. It is expressed ubiquitously within the vascular compartment, mainly at junctions between adjacent cells. The N-terminal Ig-like domain mediates homophilic binding, crucial for cell-cell interactions.
