Target Information
SPARC gene encodes a cysteine-rich acidic matrix-associated protein. This protein is essential for bone collagen calcification and participates in extracellular matrix synthesis and cell shape modulation. It has been linked to both tumor suppression and metastasis due to its role in cell morphology and invasion. Three transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been identified for this gene.
