Target Information

The protein encoded by the CARD9 gene belongs to the CARD protein family, characterized by the caspase-associated recruitment domain (CARD). This domain mediates protein-protein interactions involved in activation or suppression of caspase family members, playing a key regulatory role in apoptosis. CARD9 interacts selectively with the CARD domain of BCL10, a positive regulator of apoptosis and NF-κB activation, functioning as a scaffold for assembling the BCL10 signaling complex that activates NF-κB. Several alternatively spliced transcript variants have been identified, though their full-length structures are not clearly defined.
