Target Information
AKT2 is a phosphoinositide-dependent serine/threonine protein kinase enriched in insulin-responsive tissues. It plays a key role in metabolic actions of insulin and various cellular signaling pathways mediated by growth factor receptors activating PI 3-kinase. Akt2 is known to be amplified and overexpressed in certain human cancers.
