Product Specific Information
- In direct ELISAs and Western blots, less than 5% cross-reactivity with recombinant human PODXL.
- Reconstitute at 0.2 mg/mL in sterile PBS.
- Endotoxin level is <0.10 EU per 1 µg of the antibody by the LAL method.
Target Information
Podocalyxin-like protein 2 (PODXL2) is a CD34 family member expressed by podocytes, vascular endothelium, mesothelium, and a subset of hematopoietic progenitors. It is a major sialoprotein in the glycocalyx of glomerular podocytes. While its role in leukemic blasts is not fully understood, it is considered a potential prostate cancer tumor aggressiveness gene. PODXL2 complements CD34 as a useful cell surface marker for hemangioblasts, the common precursors of hematopoietic and endothelial cells.
