Product Specific Information
A 1:1,000 dilution of PA5-77799 was sufficient for detection of Cyclin D3 in 15 µg of mouse brain cell lysates by ECL immunoblot analysis using goat anti-rabbit IgG:HRP as the secondary antibody. Detects 45 kDa, due to post-translational modifications.
Target Information
The protein encoded by this gene belongs to the highly conserved cyclin family, characterized by periodic changes in protein abundance throughout the cell cycle. Cyclins regulate CDK kinases, and different cyclins have distinct expression and degradation patterns that coordinate mitotic events. Cyclin D3 forms a complex with CDK4 or CDK6, which is required for the G1/S transition. It interacts with and phosphorylates the tumor suppressor protein Rb. CDK4 activity associated with this cyclin is necessary for progression through G2 phase into mitosis after UV radiation. Several transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been identified. Diseases associated with CCND3 include Retinoblastoma and Plasma Cell Leukemia.
