Target Information
SLC22A8 is involved in the sodium-independent transport and excretion of organic anions, some of which are potentially toxic.
It is an integral membrane protein localized to the basolateral membrane of the kidney.
The encoded protein plays a role in the excretion of organic anions and contributes to renal detoxification processes.
