Cardiac Troponin I (Cardiac-specific troponin I, TnI, Troponin I)는 심근에서 Troponin C (TnC), Troponin T (TnT)와 복합체를 이루는 억제 단백질로, 근육 수축 조절에 중요한 역할을 합니다.
칼슘이 TnC에 결합하면 TnI의 억제 부위가 actin에서 해리되어 myosin 결합이 가능해지고, 이로 인해 근육 수축이 일어납니다.
혈중 TnI와 TnT 농도 측정은 심근 손상 진단의 중요한 지표로, 협심증과 심근경색을 구분하는 데 사용됩니다.
Cardiac Troponin I는 혈관신생 억제 기능이 있으며, 유전자 변이는 가족성 비대성 심근증(CMH7) 및 제한성 심근증(RCM)을 유발할 수 있습니다.
