Target Information
Hepatocyte nuclear factor 4 alpha (HNF4A) is an orphan nuclear receptor expressed in the liver, kidney, intestine, and pancreas. Mutations in HNF4A are associated with maturity-onset diabetes of the young type 1 (MODY1). HNF4 binds DNA as an exclusive homodimer. The HNF4A gene undergoes alternative splicing and can produce up to nine isoforms (HNF4A1–HNF4A9).
