Specific for endogenous levels of the ~50 kDa c-FOS protein.
Target Information
FBJ murine osteosarcoma viral oncogene homolog, known as Cellular protooncogene Fos (c-Fos), belongs to the fos transcription factor family and is encoded by the C-FOS gene on chromosome 14.
c-Fos heterodimerizes with c-Jun to form the Activator Protein-1 (AP-1) transcription factor, which regulates genes involved in signal transduction, cell proliferation, and differentiation.
It is phosphorylated by various stimuli, including growth factors and insulin, at multiple sites. ERK MAPK phosphorylates c-Fos at Threonine 232, regulating its nuclear localization and transcriptional activity.
