Product Specific Information

  • Reconstitute in 150 µL of sterile water.
  • Centrifuge to remove any insoluble material.
  • Specificity: ATG16L1.

Target Information

Autophagy-related protein 16L (encoded by the ATG16L gene) is located on chromosome 2 in humans and also known as WD30 or IBD10 (Inflammatory Bowel Disease 10).
ATG12 and ATG5 conjugate and oligomerize with ATG16L to form an ~800 kDa complex (Atg16L complex), which facilitates lipidation of LC3 to phosphatidylethanolamine (PE) — a key marker for autophagy.
This complex, along with ATG18 and ATG21, prevents premature cleavage of ATG8-PE by the cysteine protease Atg4 until the autophagosome is complete.
