Product Specific Information

Antibody detects endogenous levels of TNNI3 only when phosphorylated at Ser23 and Ser24.

Target Information

Cardiac Troponin I (TnI) is a cardiac-specific inhibitory protein that forms a complex with Troponin C (TnC) and Troponin T (TnT) in cardiac muscle.
TnT binds to tropomyosin to form a troponin-tropomyosin complex, anchored by TnI binding to actin within thin filaments.
Calcium binding to TnC induces a structural change, releasing TnI from actin, enabling myosin attachment and muscle contraction.
Measurement of blood TnI and TnT levels serves as a diagnostic indicator of cardiac muscle damage and helps differentiate angina from myocardial infarction.
Cardiac Troponin I also inhibits angiogenesis and mutations in its gene are associated with familial hypertrophic cardiomyopathy type 7 (CMH7) and familial restrictive cardiomyopathy (RCM).

For Research Use Only. Not for use in diagnostic procedures. Not for resale without express authorization.
