Target Information
DNA-binding transcriptional activator proteins enhance RNA polymerase II-mediated gene transcription by interacting with the general transcription machinery at the basal promoter. Adaptor proteins are required for activation, potentially through acetylation and nucleosome destabilization, relieving chromatin constraints.
The TADA3/TADA3L protein is a transcriptional activator adaptor, part of the PCAF histone acetylase complex, and associates with tumor suppressor p53, essential for full p53 activity and apoptosis.
At least four alternatively spliced variants exist, though some full-length forms remain undetermined.
