Product Specific Information

• Store vial at 4°C prior to restoration. For extended storage, aliquot contents and freeze at -20°C or below.
• Avoid freeze/thaw cycles. Centrifuge if not clear after standing at room temperature.
• Stable for several weeks at 4°C as undiluted liquid; dilute only prior to immediate use.
• Directed against the 6X His motif; useful for detecting His-tagged proteins in various assays.
• Reacts with all His-tagged proteins tested and shows no cross-reactivity with endogenous bacterial proteins.
• Recognizes His-tag fused to either N- or C-termini of target proteins in transfected or transformed cells.

Target Information

The 6x His tag is a synthetic oligopeptide consisting of six consecutive histidine residues (HHHHHH).
It is commonly expressed at either the N- or C-terminal region of recombinant proteins to enable purification via immobilized metal affinity chromatography (IMAC).
His-tagged proteins bind selectively to Ni²⁺-NTA adsorbents, facilitating purification to homogeneity.
His tag-specific antibodies are widely used for detection or co-immunoprecipitation of tagged proteins.
