Product Specific Information
For reconstitution, add 100 µL distilled water to reach a final antibody concentration of approximately 1 mg/mL.
For conjugation experiments, perform an additional desalting step using Zeba Spin Desalting Columns, 7K MWCO, 0.5 mL (Product #89882).
Target Information
The BTRC gene encodes a member of the F-box protein family, characterized by a 40-amino-acid F-box motif.
F-box proteins are part of the SCF (SKP1–Cullin–F-box) ubiquitin ligase complex involved in phosphorylation-dependent ubiquitination.
They are classified into three groups:
- Fbws: containing WD-40 domains
- Fbls: containing leucine-rich repeats
- Fbxs: containing diverse protein-protein interaction modules or no recognizable motifs
The BTRC protein belongs to the Fbws class, containing multiple WD-40 repeats.
It is homologous to Xenopus bTrCP1, yeast Met30, Neurospora Scon2, and Drosophila Slimb proteins.
BTRC interacts with HIV-1 Vpu, linking CD4 to the proteolytic machinery, and associates with phosphorylated IκBα and β-catenin destruction motifs.
It functions in multiple transcriptional programs by activating the NF-κB pathway and inhibiting the β-catenin pathway.
