Target Information

DAPK3 (Death-associated protein kinase 3) is a serine/threonine kinase involved in cell motility, smooth muscle contractility, and cell death processes. It is encoded by ZIPK and functions as a component of desmosomes and the epidermal cornified envelope in keratinocytes.
The N-terminal domain interacts with the plasma membrane, while the C-terminus associates with intermediate filaments. Through its rod domain, DAPK3 forms complexes with envoplakin, potentially linking the cornified envelope and desmosomes.
Additionally, DAPK3 interacts with AKT1/PKB, suggesting a role in AKT1-mediated signaling and cellular localization.
