Mouse anti-Bovine CD86 antibody, clone IL-A190, recognizes the bovine CD86 cell surface antigen, which is expressed by dendritic cells, activated macrophages, and activated B cells.
Target Information
CD86 is one of two ligands (the other being CD80) for CTLA4 and CD28. It acts as a costimulatory molecule in eliciting T-cell help during antigen presentation. In the absence of sufficient co-stimulation involving CD86/CD80, antigen presentation can induce tolerance.
CD86 is a type I membrane protein and a member of the immunoglobulin superfamily. It binds to CD28 and CTLA4 on T cells, providing positive (CD28) or negative (CTLA4) regulation of T-cell activation.
Alternative splicing results in two transcript variants encoding different isoforms. Diseases associated with CD86 dysfunction include gallbladder squamous cell carcinoma and myocarditis.
