This V3RT1GOsz monoclonal antibody recognizes mouse Tmem119 and is validated for flow cytometry.
- Applications Reported: Flow cytometric analysis
- Applications Tested: Tested on mouse brain cells post-myelin removal; ≤ 0.25 μg/test recommended.
A test = antibody amount staining cells in 100 µL volume.
Cell number range: 10⁵–10⁸ cells/test.

Fluorochrome Information:

Target Information
Tmem119 encodes a single-pass type I transmembrane protein interacting with microRNAs and transcription factors (SMAD1, SMAD5, RUNX2).
It serves as a microglial surface marker, distinguishing microglia from infiltrating macrophages.
Microglia are brain-resident phagocytes involved in debris clearance and neuronal pruning, exhibiting neuroprotective or neurotoxic roles depending on context.
Reactive microglia co-express Iba1 and contribute to neurodegenerative disease pathology (Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s, Huntington’s, Multiple Sclerosis).
Outside the CNS, Tmem119 may play a role in osteoblast differentiation and ossification.
