Product Specific Information
The antibody was affinity-purified from rabbit antiserum by affinity chromatography using an epitope-specific immunogen. The purity is greater than 95% as determined by SDS-PAGE.
Target Information
This gene encodes the D4 subtype of the dopamine receptor, a G-protein coupled receptor that inhibits adenylyl cyclase. It is a pharmacological target for drugs treating schizophrenia and Parkinson’s disease. Mutations in this gene are associated with behavioral phenotypes such as autonomic nervous system dysfunction, ADHD, and novelty-seeking traits. The gene contains a variable number (2–10 copies) of tandem 48 nt repeats; the sequence shown includes four repeats.
