Target Information
Terminal Deoxynucleotidyl Transferase (TdT) is a DNA polymerase located in the cell nucleus that catalyzes the polymerization of deoxynucleotides at the 3′ hydroxyl ends of oligo- or polydeoxynucleotide initiators, functioning without a template. TdT serves as a highly specific marker for diagnosing and classifying acute lymphoblastic lymphoma/leukemia. Determining TdT expression is particularly valuable for distinguishing histologically between lymphoblastic lymphoma and Burkitt’s lymphoma.
