Target Information
A-kinase anchor proteins (AKAPs) are structurally diverse proteins that bind to the regulatory subunit of protein kinase A (PKA) and localize the holoenzyme to specific cellular compartments.
The AKAP9 gene encodes a member of this family, producing isoforms that localize to the centrosome and Golgi apparatus.
AKAP9 interacts with multiple signaling proteins, including:
- Type II protein kinase A
- Serine/threonine kinase protein kinase N
- Protein phosphatase 1 and 2A
- Protein kinase C-epsilon
- Phosphodiesterase 4D3
