Antibody detects endogenous levels of total Spartin (SPG20).
Target Information
SPG20 is a protein containing a MIT (Microtubule Interacting and Trafficking molecule) domain, involved in regulating endosomal trafficking and mitochondrial function. It localizes to mitochondria and partially co-localizes with microtubules. Upon stimulation with epidermal growth factor (EGF), the protein translocates to the plasma membrane and functions in degradation and intracellular trafficking of the EGF receptor.
