Target Information
TAOK1 is a serine/threonine-protein kinase involved in regulation of the p38-containing stress-responsive MAP kinase pathway and extracellular signal-regulated protein kinase (ERK) kinases (MEKs).
It activates MEK3, implicating TAOK1 in the regulation of stress-responsive MAP kinase pathways.
Also known as MARKK, TAOK1 regulates mitotic progression, chromosome congression, and checkpoint-induced anaphase delay.
It participates in p38/MAPK14 stress-activated MAPK cascades, DNA damage responses, and cytoskeleton stability regulation.
TAOK1 phosphorylates MAP2K3, MAP2K6, and MARK2, acting as an activator of the p38/MAPK cascade and a regulator of apoptosis.
