Target Information
ICAM-2는 intercellular adhesion molecule (ICAM) 패밀리에 속하는 단백질로, 모든 ICAM 단백질은 type I transmembrane glycoprotein이며 2–9개의 immunoglobulin-like C2-type domain을 포함합니다. 이들은 leukocyte adhesion protein LFA-1과 결합하며, LFA-1 의존적 세포 접착을 차단함으로써 림프구 재순환에 관여할 수 있습니다.
ICAM-2는 항원 특이적 면역반응, NK 세포 매개 제거, 림프구 재순환 및 면역 감시와 관련된 세포 간 상호작용에 중요한 역할을 합니다.
이 유전자는 동일한 단백질을 암호화하는 여러 전사 변이를 가집니다.
ICAM2와 관련된 질환으로는 대장암 상피내암(Colon Carcinoma In Situ)이 보고되어 있습니다.
