MA3-934 detects OATP from human tissue and cells. This antibody does not detect dog, mouse or rat protein. MA3-934 shows no cross-reactivity to other OATP isoforms.

MA3-934 has been successfully used in immunofluorescence, western blotting, and immunoprecipitation procedures. Immunofluorescence staining of OATP2 in human liver samples results in a pattern consistent with plasma membrane staining.

The MA3-934 immunogen is a synthetic peptide corresponding to residues E(671) S L N K N K H F V P S A G A D S E T H C(691) of human OATP2.

Target Information

A liver-specific member of the organic anion transporter family. This protein is a transmembrane receptor that mediates the sodium-independent uptake of numerous endogenous compounds including bilirubin, 17-beta-glucuronosyl estradiol and leukotriene C4. This protein is also involved in the removal of drug compounds such as statins, bromosulfophthalein and rifampin from the blood into the hepatocytes. Polymorphisms in the gene encoding this protein are associated with impaired transporter function.
