Product Specific Information
MA3-934 detects OATP from human tissue and cells. This antibody does not detect dog, mouse, or rat protein and shows no cross-reactivity to other OATP isoforms.
It has been successfully used in immunofluorescence, western blotting, and immunoprecipitation procedures.
Immunofluorescence staining of OATP2 in human liver samples results in a pattern consistent with plasma membrane staining.
The immunogen is a synthetic peptide corresponding to residues E(671) S L N K N K H F V P S A G A D S E T H C(691) of human OATP2.
Target Information
OATP2 is a liver-specific member of the organic anion transporter family. It acts as a transmembrane receptor mediating sodium-independent uptake of endogenous compounds such as bilirubin, 17-beta-glucuronosyl estradiol, and leukotriene C4.
It also participates in the hepatic clearance of drug compounds including statins, bromosulfophthalein, and rifampin.
Genetic polymorphisms in this transporter are associated with impaired function.
