Product Specific Information
The antibody was affinity-purified from rabbit antiserum by affinity chromatography using epitope-specific immunogen. Purity is >95% (by SDS-PAGE).
Target Information
This gene belongs to the homeobox family of genes encoding highly conserved transcription factors involved in morphogenesis in multicellular organisms. Mammals possess four homeobox gene clusters (HOXA, HOXB, HOXC, HOXD) located on different chromosomes, each containing 9–11 tandemly arranged genes. The HOXD8 gene is part of the HOXD cluster on chromosome 2. Deletions of the HOXD cluster or its 5′ end are linked to severe limb and genital abnormalities. Beyond embryogenesis, HOXD8 may play a role in adult urogenital tract function.
