Target Information

TRPM5는 transient receptor potential protein family의 구성원으로, 이온 채널 구조를 가진 단백질입니다. 맛 전달에 중요한 역할을 하며, 칼슘에 의해 활성화되는 비선택적 양이온 채널로 Na⁺, K⁺, Cs⁺를 통과시키지만 Ca²⁺는 통과시키지 않습니다. 낮은 농도의 세포 내 칼슘에 의해 활성화되고 높은 농도에서는 억제됩니다. 또한 온도 민감성이 높으며, 15–35°C 사이에서 급격한 전류 증가를 보입니다. 이 유전자는 염색체 11p15.5의 Beckwith-Wiedemann syndrome critical region-1에 위치하며, 부계 알렐에서만 발현되는 imprinting 특성을 가집니다.
