SRC는 세포질 티로신 키나아제이자 원암유전자로, 배아 발달 및 세포 성장 조절에 관여합니다. 다양한 세포 표면 수용체의 세포질 영역과 결합하여 신호전달을 매개하며, 세포골격 조직, 세포 주기 조절, 세포사멸에도 관여합니다. 인간에서는 SRC 유전자가 염색체 20번에 위치하며, Tyr416과 Tyr527 잔기의 인산화 상태에 따라 효소 활성이 조절됩니다. Tyr416의 인산화는 활성을 증가시키고, Tyr527의 인산화는 활성을 억제합니다. SRC 유전자 변이는 대장암의 악성 진행과 관련될 수 있습니다.
