Target Information
TRIM25 (Tripartite Motif-Containing 25), also known as estrogen responsive finger protein (EFP), is a member of the RING finger-B box-coiled coil family and a downstream target of estrogen receptor α.
Mice lacking this gene show an underdeveloped uterus and reduced estrogen responsiveness, indicating its essential role in estrogen-dependent proliferation.
TRIM25 expression is elevated in breast carcinoma, promoting tumor growth by functioning as an E3 ubiquitin ligase that targets the negative cell cycle checkpoint 14-3-3σ.
Recent studies have shown that TRIM25 E3 ubiquitin ligase is crucial for the RIG-I signaling pathway, mediating host antiviral innate immunity.
