Target Information

TRIM25, also known as estrogen responsive finger protein (EFP), is a member of the RING finger-B box-coiled coil family and a downstream target of estrogen receptor α.
Mice lacking this gene show underdeveloped uterus and reduced estrogen responsiveness, demonstrating its essential role in estrogen-dependent proliferation.
TRIM25 expression increases in breast carcinoma, promoting tumor growth by functioning as an E3 ubiquitin ligase targeting the negative cell cycle checkpoint protein 14-3-3σ.
Recent studies indicate that TRIM25 E3 ubiquitin ligase is critical for the RIG-I signaling pathway, mediating host antiviral innate immunity.
