Product Specific Information
- For IHC (PFA fixed): Incubate antibody for 30 minutes at room temperature.
- For formalin-fixed tissues: Heat tissue sections in 10 mM Tris with 1 mM EDTA (pH 9.0) for 45 minutes at 95°C, then cool at room temperature for 20 minutes before staining.
Target Information
Adiponectin is a protein hormone secreted exclusively by adipocytes that regulates lipid and glucose metabolism. It plays roles in homeostasis and obesity. Decreased adiponectin levels are associated with obesity, insulin resistance, and type 2 diabetes. In mice, adiponectin improves insulin signaling and reduces intramyocellular lipid levels through activation of AMP kinase and PPAR-alpha, promoting fatty acid transport and oxidation.
