Target Information
The protein encoded by this gene belongs to the membrane-associated guanylate kinase (MAGUK) family, functioning as a molecular scaffold for multiprotein complex assembly at the plasma membrane. It is also a member of the CARD protein family, characterized by the caspase-associated recruitment domain (CARD).
CARD11 and CARD14 proteins share a similar domain structure, and both interact specifically with BCL10, a positive regulator of cell apoptosis and NF-kappaB activation. Expression of this protein activates NF-kappaB and induces phosphorylation of BCL10.
