Target Information
CD45 (LCA, leukocyte common antigen) is a receptor-type protein tyrosine phosphatase (PTP) expressed in all nucleated hematopoietic cells, comprising approximately 10% of all surface proteins in lymphocytes. It is absent in non-hematopoietic cell lines and tissues.
CD45 plays a crucial role in lymphocyte development and antigen signaling, regulating Src-family kinases and JAK kinases. It exists as multiple isoforms due to alternative splicing, differing in extracellular domains but sharing transmembrane and cytoplasmic domains.
CD45RA is an isoform with restricted expression among lymphoid cell subtypes. CD45 regulates T- and B-cell receptor signaling, cytokine signaling, and cell survival pathways, including integrin-mediated signal transduction and apoptosis regulation.
