Product Specific Information

The SK7 monoclonal antibody reacts with human and chimpanzee CD3e, a 20 kDa subunit of the TCR complex. The epsilon chain, along with gamma and delta, is required for proper assembly, trafficking, and surface expression of the TCR complex. CD3 is expressed by thymocytes in a developmentally regulated manner and by all mature T cells.
SK7 and UCHT1 monoclonal antibodies cross-block binding, suggesting recognition of overlapping epitopes.

Super Bright 600 is a tandem dye excited by violet laser (405 nm) and emits at 600 nm. Recommended filter: 610/20 bandpass.
Use Super Bright Complete Staining Buffer (Product # SB-4401) when combining multiple Super Bright dyes to minimize non-specific polymer interactions.

Target Information

The CD3 subunit complex transduces antigen-recognition signals in T cells and regulates TCR surface expression.
T cell activation involves CD3 gamma, delta, epsilon, and zeta subunits—members of the immunoglobulin superfamily encoded on human chromosome 11.
CD3 components have long cytoplasmic tails that associate with signal transduction molecules via double tyrosine-based motifs.
CD3 is found on 68–82% of normal peripheral blood lymphocytes, 65–85% of thymocytes, and Purkinje cells in the cerebellum.
Not expressed on B or NK cells.
Defects in the CD3 gene are associated with CD3 immunodeficiency.
