Interleukin 2 (IL-2)는 활성화된 T 세포의 증식, B 세포의 분화, NK 세포, 단핵구 및 대식세포의 기능 조절에 중요한 면역조절성 사이토카인입니다.
IL-2는 IL-2 수용체(IL-2R)를 통해 신호를 전달하며, 이 수용체의 감마 사슬은 IL-4 및 IL-7과 공유됩니다.
성숙한 흉선세포에서 IL-2 유전자의 발현은 단일 대립유전자(monallelic) 방식으로 조절되며, 이는 단일 유전자의 정밀한 발현을 제어하는 독특한 조절 메커니즘을 나타냅니다.
