Target Information
BRCA1 (breast and ovarian cancer susceptibility protein 1)는 핵 인산화 단백질로, 유전체 안정성 유지에 중요한 역할을 하며 다른 종양 억제 단백질, DNA 손상 감지 단백질, 신호전달 인자들과 함께 BASC(BRCA1 associated genome surveillance complex)를 형성합니다.
BRCA1은 RNA polymerase II 및 histone deacetylase complex와 상호작용하여 전사 조절, DNA 이중가닥 절단 복구 및 재조합에 관여합니다.
이 유전자의 돌연변이는 약 40%의 유전성 유방암과 80% 이상의 유전성 유방 및 난소암의 원인으로 알려져 있습니다. 다양한 alternative splicing 변이가 보고되어 있으며, 일부는 질병 관련 돌연변이로 확인되었습니다.
