Target Information
The IL-18 protein is a proinflammatory cytokine that induces IFN-γ production in T cells. In combination with IL-12, IL-18 inhibits IL-4–dependent IgE and IgG1 production while enhancing IgG2a production in B cells. IL-18 binding protein interacts specifically with IL-18, negatively regulating its biological activity.
