MYLK (MLCK)는 미오신 조절 경쇄를 인산화하여 수축 활동(미오신-액틴 상호작용)을 유도하는 세린/트레오닌 키나아제입니다. MLCK는 평활근 수축을 담당하며, 혈관 투과성과 조직 부종 형성의 주요 결정 인자입니다. 신경계에서는 성상세포 돌기 성장 개시와 시냅스에서의 신경전달물질 방출에 관여하는 것으로 알려져 있습니다. 또한 섬유아세포의 세포사멸 신호 경로에 중요한 역할을 합니다. 평활근 및 비평활근 이소효소는 다양한 성체 및 태아 조직에서 발현되며, 비평활근 isoform 2가 주요 splice variant로 알려져 있습니다. Telokin isoform은 칼모듈린과 결합하며 다양한 조직에서 발견됩니다. MLCK는 인산화에 의해 하향 조절될 수 있습니다. 단백질은 1개의 fibronectin type III domain과 9개의 immunoglobulin-like C2-type domain을 포함합니다.
