Target Information
Kallikreins, including Kallikrein 6, are a subgroup of serine proteases with diverse physiological functions. Many kallikreins are implicated in carcinogenesis and may serve as potential biomarkers for cancer and other diseases. KLK6 is regulated by steroid hormones and has been shown to generate amyloidogenic fragments from the amyloid precursor protein in tissue culture, suggesting a possible role in Alzheimer’s disease.
